Since 2018, a local non-profit has provided a safe place for San Luis Obispo County’s homeless to take a hot shower. Over the past four years, Shower the People has given more than 11,000 free showers. According to the Tribune, by the end of this year, they will have provided more than 12,000 showers. People who use Shower the people facilities say it has helped keep them safe and healthy while struggling with homelessness.
