A broken water main created a sinkhole in a San Luis Obispo neighborhood yesterday afternoon. The water main break near the corner of Calle Lupita and Calle Jazmin was first reported at around 4:15. The sinkhole developed after crews arrived to investigate. A city truck parked nearby dropped into the hole. It was eventually recovered with no damage. The broken pipe was repaired. According to the Tribune, city crews repair about a dozen water pipe breaks a year.
