Monarch Butterfly Numbers Are On The Rise

Pismo Beach’s iconic monarch butterfly population may be bouncing back. According to the Tribune, State Parks officials who track the numbers, have counted more than 24,000 butterflies at the Monarch Grove in Pismo Beach. That’s up from a count taken this time last year. The butterflies have been on the verge of extinction for several years. But, experts say the last few migration seasons have shown some promise.
