The only skate park in Santa Maria has reopened. Following a 210,000 dollar renovation, skateboarders were allowed to drop in and check out the new ramps, rails, and kick ramps. City officials started the project by asking local skateboarders for suggestions. Now the Fletcher Park Skate Park includes a variety of new features. The skate park currently is open until 10 p.m. but that will change after the holidays.
