A Cambria man convicted of kidnapping and raping a female hiker last year was sentenced yesterday. In June of last year, 33-year-old Jesus Barajasvaldovinos was suspected of dragging the hiker off the Santa Rosa Creek trail and assaulting her for hours. County Sheriff’s deputies used DNA evidence to create a profile and eventually arrest Barajasvaldovinos. Due to the severity of the crime, the judge sentenced him to 28 years to life in Prison.
