San Luis Obispo County Health officials are warning surfers and swimmers to avoid contact with the ocean. Storm runoff from the recent rains may have transport high levels of disease-causing organisms such as bacteria, viruses, and protozoa from urban areas to the ocean. Surfers, swimmers and others are warned to avoid contact with ocean water in areas close to creeks, rivers, storm drains for the next three days.
