Thousands of acres of federal ocean leases off the Central Coast and off coast of Humbolt County will be auctioned tomorrow. Close to 250,000 acres located about 20 miles west of Cambria and San Simeon in San Luis Obispo County are the planned site of floating wind generators. Another 132,000 ocean acres off the Humbolt County coastline will also be auctioned off. According to the Tribune, together the wind farms could generate enough electricity to power about 1.6 million homes.
