Prison For Man Convicted Of Shooting Tourist And Nephew

The man found guilty of a double murder in 2001 will be going to prison. The judge in the case found Stephen Deflaun was sane when he shot and killed Stephen Wells and his nephew Jerry Rios jr. at the Morro Bay State Park Campground. He had pleaded not guilty by resaon of insanity. A jury found him guilty of two counts of first-degree murder. Following the judge’s ruling on Friday, Deflaun will be sentenced on June 2nd.
