A long-awaited construction project to widen Highway 46 will force Caltrans to fully close Highway 41 near the Cholame “Y” beginning tomorrow. Highway 41 is slated to receive two major upgrades over the next three years. The widening of Highway 46 East toward Kern County, and a flyover interchange to the Cholame “Y” crossing. Highway 41 will be closed in both directions Wednesday and Thursday between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m… Highway 33 will serve as a detour. Drivers should expect delays.
