San Luis Obispo Police are investigating a couple of reports of strangers offering rides to school children. The first happened on Royal Way near CL Smith Elementary School on April 27. A man in a white van reportedly asked a girl if she needed a ride to school. The second happened last Friday near Hawthorne Elementary School. A man in a gold four-door sedan asked a girl if she needed a ride home from school. Neither child got into the vehicles and reported the incidents to adults. Police say parents should talk to their children about how to respond if a stranger approaches them.
