A Mesa Middle School teacher arrested on suspicion of child abuse will not face any charges. That’s the word from the SLO County D.A.’s Office. D.A. Dan Dow announced that there was “insufficient evidence to file criminal charges.” 42-year-old Sarah Watts had been accused of injuring a student when she pulled a hairbrush from a 13-year-old’s hand. An investigation revealed the scratch was consistent with a minor accident and not intentional.
