The Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors will discuss the possibility of downsizing The county’s Main Jail. The Main Jail near Santa Barbara has been historically overcrowded for years. Officials believe the new Northern Branch jail near Santa Maria could help alleviate the overcrowding problem by reducing the number of inmates in the Main Jail. The proposal will be discussed at tomorrow’s Board of Supervisors meeting.
