The SLO County Sheriff’s Office says there’s a new phone scam for residents to be aware of. According to a press release, the scammers claim to be from the Sheriff’s Office and tell you about a warrant for your arrest. Of course, they’ll be able to clear the matter up using a cash transfer, debit card, or gift card. Officials say the Sheriff’s Office will not contact you by phone regarding any possible warrants. They also do not accept gift cards in lieu of bail.
