The California Highway Patrol is investigating the death of a pedestrian. Authorities say a 25-year-old man was struck by a pickup truck on Highway 101 in Atascadero at around 2:20 yesterday morning. According to the CHP the unidentified man had been standing in the median before stepping directly into the path of the Toyota. Drugs and alcohol are not a factor on the part of the driver.
