A 78-year-old man suspected of 22 counts of abuse against children is behind bars. Former San Luis Obispo resident Pablo Reyna-Esparza was first accused of abusing a 10-year-old girl in 2018 at an unlicensed daycare in San Luis Obispo. He denied the allegations and fled to Mexico. Police say there was not enough corroborating evidence to press charges at the time. On May 8th, Reyna-Esparza was arrested crossing the border from Mexico back into California. His bail was set at 12.6 million dollars. The investigation is ongoing.
