Santa Maria Police officers answered a call about a man possibly overdosing yesterday afternoon. When they arrived at a home on South Russell, they found a man displaying symptoms of a possible fentanyl overdose. One of the officers administered Narcan. The man regained consciousness and was transported to an area hospital for further treatment. The Santa Maria Police Department began its Narcan program about two weeks ago.
