Man In Mental Crisis Holds Police At Bay

A San Luis Obispo man was arrested yesterday morning after holding police at bay for two hours. At around 5:30 yesterday morning, police responded to a report of a man inside the Maintenance yard at the Amtrak Station. When officers arrived, 42-year-old Jorge Cardenas Soto had barricaded himself inside the engine bay of one of the trains. Police crisis negotiators were able to convince Cardenas Soto to leave the train. According to a press release, he will receive a mental health evaluation and appropriate follow-up services. Bail was set at 10,000 dollars.
