The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a possible drowning near Avila Beach. According to a press release, it happened yesterday during a kayak outing at around 5 p.m.. A male adult was kayaking with a friend when he fell out of his boat. The friend paddled over to him but found him unresponsive. When he couldn’t rescue the man, he paddled back to shore and called 911. The man’s body was found at around 7 p.m.. Sheriff’s investigators say the death appears to be accidental.
