Boaters Must Pass “Sniff Test” Before Entering Lopez Lake

If you’re headed to Lopez Lake over the Fourth of July Weekend for some boating, your boat will have to pass the sniff test. According to the Tribune, all boats entering Lopez Lake will be inspected by so-called “mussel dogs.” They’re trained to find an invasive quagga mussel. The mussel dogs will be inspecting water craft on Monday and Tuesday. Boaters can also help by checking the surfaces of your boat for mussels, and give your vessel a complete cleaning.
