The San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors has approved funding that would move unhoused residents of one of the county’s largest homeless encampments into housing. According to the Tribune, a 13.4 million dollar grant will help move up to 200 people out of encampments along the Bob Jones Trail and into a new 80-bed housing complex in San Luis Obispo due to open in March next year. Officials say residents who participate will be moved into transitional housing programs until permanent housing can be found.
