Cal Fire Agrees To Clean Up PFAS Chemicals

Cal Fire and the County of San Luis Obispo have agreed to the cleanup of PFAS chemicals found in groundwater supplies near the San Luis Obispo Airport. Cal Fire officials say federal regulations require the use of PFAS-containing fire suppression foam during certain emergency operations. According to KSBY, the Voluntary Cleanup Agreement requires a cleanup and abatement program, groundwater monitoring, and replacement water for those who rely on groundwater.
