The San Luis Obispo County Office of Emergency Services will be testing the Early Warning System sirens today and tomorrow. Each of the 131 sirens in the Diablo Canyon Emergency Planning Zone will be tested for a few seconds. Officials say the required tests help ensure the siren system is working properly and ready for use in an actual emergency. The Early Warning System sirens cover an area from Cayucos to the Nipomo Mesa.
