The Railroad Square Safe Parking Program will be closing down by the end of August. The overnight parking site opened in 2021 to try and give people living in their vehicle a safe place to spend the night. According to the Tribune, City officials have decided to try a new rotational program that moves the location of the safe parking site to a different host each month. The new rotational program should be up and running on October 1st. The City is currently looking for volunteers to share their property.
