An earthquake shook northern San Luis Obispo County yesterday afternoon. According to the U.S. Geological Survey the quake west of Parkfield in southern Monterey County at 12:17. The quake was initially reported to be 4.9 but later downgraded to a 4.3. The shaking could be felt as far south as Lompoc. It was also felt in Fresno and Salinas.
