Cal Fire Firefighters were called out to two vegetation fires yesterday afternoon in the Carrizo Plain. Both fires were reported at about 5:30 p.m… By 8 o’clock the flames had charred about 225 acres. According to the Cal Fire website, crews had halted the forward progress of the Bitter Fire with 30 percent containment. An investigation into the cause of the fires is underway.
