The Lompoc City Council has agreed to fund the purchase of body-worn cameras for their police department. According to KSBY, they are the last Central Coast police department to approve the use of body-cams. Lompoc Police Chief Kevin Martin a plan to purchase the cameras has been in the works for five years, but the city simply didn’t have the funding available. Officers will begin using body-worn cameras this November.
