Atascadero police say a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle yesterday afternoon on El Camino Real. Investigators say the collision happened just before two o’clock. The man was trying to cross the street near Vons when he was hit. EMTs tried performing life-saving measures but the victim passed away on the way to the hospital. His name has not been released pending notification of next of kin. The investigation is ongoing.
