The San Luis Obispo man suspected of a smash and grab burglary of the Big Five Sporting Goods store last weekend is in custody. San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s deputies caught up with 25-year-old Michael Giovanni Benadiba at around midnight Thursday in Arroyo Grande. According to a press release, Benadiba is facing several felony charges. Authorities say the 25-year-old has had contact the law enforcement in the past. Most notably, he was convicted, along with two others, of setting fire to the computer lab at San Luis Obispo High School in 2016. His bail is set at 255,000 dollars.
