A 27-year-old Santa Maria man is behind bars on a charge of murder. on February 4 of this year, 40-year-old Robert Valencia was shot and killed on North Railroad Avenue. Detectives identified Kevin Medrano as a suspect in the shooting. Early yesterday morning, a SWAT team and detectives served a search warrant at Medrano’s home. He was arrested and booked into Santa Barbara Count Jail.
