Two women were arrested earlier this week and charged with felony theft of sunglasses. According to a SLO P.D. press release, it happened Wednesday afternoon at the Sunglass Hut on Higuera. Officers responded to a report of two women putting high-end shades in bags and leaving quickly. Investigators broadcast the suspects’ descriptions. About 30 minutes later, CHP and SLO County Sheriff’s Deputies caught up with the thieves, northbound on the 101 near Highway 46. Akaija Elder and Maiya Green are now facing charges of felony grand theft and felony organized retail theft.
