A car reported stolen out of Santa Barbara led CHP officers on a pursuit through parts of Santa Maria and Nipomo yesterday. An officer ran the vehicles plates, then tried to pull the driver over. the driver sped up and hopped on the northbound 101 at Broadway in Santa Maria. They exited at Willow Road in Nipomo, continuing past Oso Flaco, before getting stuck in some farm fields. 41-year-old Lompoc resident Vincent Romero was arrested and is facing charges related to the stolen vehicle and the pursuit.
