Morro Bay residents will be paying more for trash pickup. The City Council unanimously voted to temporarily raise the rate for garbage collection by 38 percent. According to KSBY, the increase is needed to cover the cost of public works employees pay increases, declining recycling revenues, and increasing material costs. A single family home with a 19 gallon garbage can can expect to 5 dollars and 56 cents more for trash collection.
