The Santa Barbara County D.A.’s Prosecutor’s Office has rested its case against the woman accused of shooting a man to death and disposing of his dismembered body in a water hazard at a SLO County golf course. 38-year-old Kimberly Machleit is facing murder charges in the 2018 death of Joseph Govey. The defense will begin calling its witnesses tomorrow in a Santa Barbara County Superior Courtroom. Jury deliberations could begin as soon as next week.
