Two small vegetation fires turned into one wildfire near San Luis Obispo High School yesterday. The Lizzy fire broke out at around 3:30 near Lizzy Street. Evacuation orders were sent out to surrounding neighborhoods as firefighters attacked the blaze from the ground and air. By 7:30 p.m. the flames had scorched about 100 acres, and were reported to be about 10 percent contained. Evacuation orders have been lifted in the area. Officials say another 300 firefighters will join the fight this morning. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Meanwhile, two smaller fires broke out near Cal Poly. They were quickly contained.
