You may notice a helicopter towing a large hoop this weekend. It’s part of a California Department of Water Resources survey of the groundwater aquifers under San Luis Obispo, Edna Valley, Los Osos, the Five Cities, and Santa Maria. San Luis Obispo City officials say the electromagnetic survey poses no threat to the public’s safety. The survey flights are scheduled for Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.
