A Santa Maria woman has been found guilty of first-degree murder in a 2018 shooting of a man whose body was later found at a Nipomo golf course. 39-year-old Kimberly Machleit shot Joseph Govey to death in December 2018. His dismembered body was found in September 2020 in a Blacklake Gold Resort water hazard. Two other men are already serving time for their participation in disposing of the body. Machleit’s sentencing is pending.
