A long-running dispute between the San Simeon Community Services District and a landowner took a turn. The San Simeon CSD and landowner Ron Hurlbert reached an agreement for the district allegedly encroaching on Hurlbert’s property. A check issued by the CSD as part of the settlement bounced. According to the Tribune, Interim General Manager Patrick Faverty says the bounced check was a simple matter of bad timing, including depositing funds, mailing the check, and federal holidays. Hulbert now has the money but now wants interest on the funds he feels he’s owed.
