Close to 100 veterans classified themselves as homeless at a recent Veterans “Stand Down” event in Santa Maria. Officials say the October event drew more than 400 vets. They were able to receive access to vital services ranging from haircuts to health checks. The Santa Barbara County Food Bank also provided more than 2,000 pounds of food.
