Santa Barbara County Fire Department Firefighters responded to two separate vegetation fires yesterday. Both fires were reported in the La Purisima Mission State Park area northeast of Lompoc yesterday afternoon. Officials say the fires were considered small. Quick work by fire crews kept them that way. Forward progress of the flames was halted just after 5 p.m.. The Cause of the fires is under investigation.
