SLO County Extends Shelter Crisis Declaration

According to a 2022 Point in Time report, at least 1,448 people in San Luis Obispo County are experiencing homelessness. On Tuesday the San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors extended its declaration of a shelter crisis. According to the Tribune, it helps bypass state and local laws, making it easier to build and operate emergency shelters on county-owned property.
