An Atascadero teen needed to be rescued after falling off a 250-foot cliff near Big Sur. The 19-year-old fell while hiking near the Sykes Campground last week. According to the Tribune, his hiking partner was able to call 911 which sparked a rescue response that included a helicopter from the CHP. The hiker was found with minor, non-life-threatening injuries but couldn’t free himself from where he fell. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment and is expected to fully recover.
