A memorial service for a San Luis Obispo woman who dedicated her life to caring for severely sick and terminally ill children will be held this weekend. Sjany de Groot passed away at the age of 96. Her life of caring for children experiencing serious and terminal illnesses will leave a lasting impact on the community. A memorial service for de Groot will be held Saturday, Jan. 13, at 11 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Foothill Boulevard in San Luis Obispo.
