A decorative crosswalk project is coming to Santa Maria. City officials say drivers at the intersection of Cook and McClelland Streets will get a glimpse of blue and gold thermoplastic asphalt overlay. Public Works officials say the treatment will retain its color and withstand the flow of traffic. According to KEYT, the design for the crosswalk was inspired by the iconic blue and gold tiles atop Santa Maria’s City Hall. The project should be completed by the end of February.
