Butterfly Population In Crisis

The Numbers are in for the Monarch butterfly population and they are not good. Officials say the population of the migrating butterflies has declined 90 percent from the 1980’s. According to KSBY much of the decline is due to loss of habitat at more than 60 Pacific Coast locations. An ongoing effort to recover and restore the remaining habitats could take decades before any Monarch population increases would be seen.
