California Highway Patrol officers in Santa Maria had an unusual traffic stop this week. Officers were dispatched to the southbound 101 near Main Street Monday afternoon. A wayward chihuahua was snarling traffic. A CHP-Santa Maria social media post praised the officers for their work. “Kudos to these guardians of the highways for proving that protecting and serving extends to our four-legged friends too!”
