An investigation into the death of an Oceano man continues. 66-year-old Steve Wagner was found lying on the beach at the Oceano Dunes State Vehicular Recreation Area last month. Parks Officials say he was unresponsive, fully clothed, and lying on wet sand. Lifesaving measures by park rangers and Cal Fire were unsuccessful. A day later his car was found in the ocean at the Oceano Dunes park. SLO County Sheriff’s officials say foul play is not suspected.
