Cal Poly has announced a new record number of applicants for the upcoming fall class. Officials say 78,947 students have applied for a spot at the university this year, a 5.5 percent increase over last year. In 2023 Cal Poly admitted 21,619 students with 6,619 admitted students accepting the university’s offer. The university has a ten-year plan to add roughly 3,000 beds to student housing to accommodate its growing population.
