The San Luis Obispo County Works Department is investigating an illegal dumping incident. Officials say on December 18th last year, five steel drums were found abandoned along Monterey Road near Paso Robles. Four of the drums contained benzene, a highly flammable and toxic material. Any identifying markings on the barrels were removed. Anyone with helpful information about this incident is asked to contact the SLO County Public Works Department.
