A Santa Barbara County Jail inmate’s death has been ruled accidental. 33-year-old Jaime Gonzalez of Santa Maria died in December 2022. According to a report released yesterday by the D.A.’s Office, “Autopsy results revealed Gonzalez’s cause of death was methamphetamine intoxication.” According to Noozhawk, The report went on to state that “the physical force used by SBSO staff to restrain Gonzalez before his accidental death was reasonable and lawful.
