The Lompoc City Fire Department recently received a 75,000 dollars grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety. Fire officials say the money was used to buy updated, life-saving tools to rescue people trapped inside their vehicles after an accident. The new tools will replace some rescue equipment that has been in the department for almost 30 years.
